Side Event Entry Fee: For all side events, FREE if registered in the main event, the Grand Pacific Open.  Otherwise, $10 gets you a pass to all side events. 

Victoria Chess Challenge (Grade K-12) April 2 10am - 4pm, G25min+5 sec increment,  5 round swiss or round robin, medals 1st, 2nd, 3rd each grade K-12. Open to Out of Region players including US and International.  Top players will qualify for BC Chess Challenge (BC residents only).  TD  Elliot Raymer

Grand Pacific Active April 2 12 noon - 4pm, G25min+5 sec increment,  4 round swiss, medals 1st, 2nd, 3rd ≤12 years >12years and ≥ 60 years  TD Elliot Raymer

Round Times Rd 1 at 6:00 Friday April 2nd; Rds 2 and 3 at 12:00 noon and 6:00 pm Saturday April 3rd;

Rds 4 and 5 at 12:00 noon and 6:00 pm Sunday April 4th; Rd 6 at 10:00 am Monday April 5th

Prize Fund $4000 Guaranteed Open Section: $1000+Trophy, $600, $400 U2000 $400, $300 U1700 $350, $250; U1400 Section: $350, $250; Biggest Upset $100

Medals for section 1st-3rd place and overall 2nd-3rd place

Top BC Resident in the Open qualifies for the BC Closed.

Time Control: Game in 90 minutes with a 30 second increment

Entry Fee (Open) $70 if registered and paid before March 1, $80 if registered only (not paid) by April 1, $90 for on site registration

Non CFC members add $16

Entry Fee (U1400) $50 if registered and paid before March 1, $60 if registered only (not paid) by April 1, $70 for on site registration.

Misc: Unrated players are not eligible for class prizes. U1400 players may play in the Open but are then not eligible for the U1400 prize.

1st tiebreak for non cash prizes is individual cumulative score. 2nd tiebreak is cumulative score of opponents.

Prize ceremony at 2:15 on Sunday, April 13.  BCCF membership is included in entry fee.  All chess equipment provided.
